Citicorp Building
The Citicorp Building was a building that was headed toward being a failure until a student phoned the engineer William LeMessurier, her had some questions about the design. After LeMessurier explained the design to the student he decided to look over his original plans. When the skyscraper was built, a design change had been made... the special wind braces were bolted together, not welded. Then as LeMessurier overlooked wind factors, he realized the bolted joints were to weak to withstand high winds, and hurricane season was on its way.
